Taming the Desk Pile
Since Baby Bird started daycare I have been using my extra time during the day to get myself caught up before I go back to work on the 24th. The Monthly and Weekly Day Planner I received from Chaos...Simplified couldn't have come at a better time
My sister-in-law told me that one of the hardest parts of going back to work after maternity leave was dinner plans. It's a big part of your evening routine and if you aren't organized, it can eat up a lot of your limited quality time with your family. One of my favorite parts of this planner is that it includes a section each day for supper plans. Our family will be using this feature every day. We used to write down what we were going to eat for the week on a piece of paper, then a day later, we lost the paper and we were lost. Not any more...
There are so many great features and sections of this day planner that you can't find in other planners. I also like that you can view both your weekly and monthly schedule at the same time. It's nice to always have your whole month in front of you to plan for things down the road instead of constantly flipping through your book to see where you are.
The premise is that all planners provide you with some organization to your life. But the problem lies in it’s structure. I agree, because usually I am reminded of events in my planner…oh, the day of when I flip the page. {Umm…Too late, but nice try!}
I have it all planned out actually: Use the month-view to schedule appointments, parties, events…anything I have to do. Then, I’ll use the week-at-a-glance pages to schedule in the little things that make those big monthly events go smoothly – like supper plans, phone calls to make, things to do and setting that days’ priority…You know, those little daily chores and lists that fill up too much space in your planner {and cover up those big events, that you end up missing beause your planner is way too crowded!}. This is honestly a great way to organize your life. And as a busy Mom, I need some organizing to my chaos!
